Job summary

Coherent Corp. Philippines is seeking a Calibration Technician to perform calibration and functional testing of ESD control equipment in a semiconductor fab cleanroom in Laguna.

The role requires 4+ years in calibration, strong knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20 and SEMI standards, and the ability to document data and work with cross-functional teams to resolve ESD issues.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum 4 years in calibration and ESD control in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20 and SEMI standards.
• Experience with calibration software and regulated documentation.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and test ESD control equipment (wrist/foot straps, mats, ionizers) in semiconductor settings.
• Maintain calibration instruments with traceability to standards.
• Inspect EPAs for compliance with industry requirements.
• Document calibration data and update databases per QMS.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality, and production to resolve issues.
• Support ESD training programs.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and safety regulations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform calibration and functional testing of ESD control equipment including wrist straps, foot straps, ESD mats, ionizers, ESD monitors, and other sensitive ESD devices used in semiconductor industry.
• Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments ensuring traceability to NIST or equivalent standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of ESD protected areas (EPAs) to ensure compliance with semiconductor industry requirements..
• Document calibration data accurately and update the calibration database according to semiconductor quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve ESD-related issues promptly.
• Support ESD awareness training programs to promote best practices among semiconductor industry personnel.
• Ensure strict adherence to cleanroom protocols and safety regulations while performing calibration tasks.

Education & Experience

• BS Engineering graduate or Technological courses graduate preferably in the field of Electronics and /or Mechanical, associate degree or technical certification in electronics, metrology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 4 years' experience in calibration and ESD control within a semiconductor manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20, SEMI standards, and cleanroom practices.
• Experience using calibration software and managing calibration documentation in a regulated environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in handling sensitive equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Skills

• Skilled in conducting ESD audits, testing, monitoring, and implementation of ESD control programs.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving.
• Familiar with ANSI/ESD standards, ESD flooring, wrist strap, footwear, ionizer, and workstation verification.
• Capable of providing ESD awareness training and technical support to different departments.

Working Conditions

• Semiconductor fab cleanroom environment requiring compliance with gowning and safety protocols.
• Use of precision calibration tools and test equipment.
• Standing and walking for extended periods; occasional lifting of calibration equipment.
