Job summary

Coherent Corp. in the Philippines is seeking an experienced engineer to optimize and sustain test processes for chip on carrier/submount products. You will oversee electrical, optical, and burn-in testing, analyze data to identify trends, and drive improvements in yield and stability.

The role requires 3–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing, hands-on test experience, and proficiency with Excel, JMP, SQL, and Power BI. It is a 100% onsite position offering growth and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent science courses.
• 3–5 years of experience in semiconductor or optoelectronics manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in test processes, test/burn-in equipment qualification, process validation, data analysis and troubleshooting; Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Optimize, qualify, and sustain electrical, optical, thermal, performance, and burn-in test processes for chip on carrier/submount products.
• Control test parameters by monitoring data to identify trends, abnormal results, equipment drift, reliability concerns, and yield improvements.
• Qualify test and burn-in equipment, fixtures, software, and measurement systems through validation, GR&R, and process capability analysis.
• Lead root-cause investigations and preventive/corrective actions for test failures and equipment issues.
• Conduct DOE, process capability studies, SPC, GR&R, and data analysis to improve stability, yield, and productivity.
• Support equipment qualification, new product introduction, production ramp-up, documentation, and process training.

• Optimize, qualify, and sustain electrical, optical, thermal, performance, and burn-in test processes for chip on carrier/submount products
• Control test parameters such as drive current, optical output power, voltage, temperature, etc by monitoring and analyzing test data to identify trends, abnormal results, equipment drift, intermittent failures, reliability concerns, and opportunities to improve yield and process stability
• Qualify test and burn-in equipment, fixtures, software, and measurement systems through validation, correlation studies, GR&R, and process capability analysis
• Lead root-cause investigations and preventive/corrective actions for test failures, false rejects, false accepts, equipment issues, and burn-in fallout
• Conduct DOE, process capability studies, SPC, GR&R, and data analysis to improve process stability, yield, and productivity
• Support equipment acceptance/qualification, new product introduction, product transfer, production ramp-up, documentation, and process training

Education & Experience

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent science courses like Physics, etc
• With 3–5 years of experience in semiconductor or optoelectronics manufacturing
• With hands‑on experience in test process either in sustaining or development mode, test and burn‑in equipment qualification, process validation, data analysis and troubleshooting; Lean Six Sigma certification is an advantage.

Skills

• Possess strong technical knowledge of testing methodologies including power, current, voltage, temperature, etc measurements
• Has the ability to analyze large volumes of test and burn‑in data using Excel, JMP, SQL, Power BI, or equivalent tools
• Skilled in statistical process control, design of experiment, process capability analysis, GR&R, measurement system analysis, data trending, and structured problem‑solving
• Possess troubleshooting capability on testers and burn‑in systems, fixtures, probes, sensors, power supplies, temperature controllers, software, and communication interfaces
• Can effectively drive cross‑functional team and have demonstrated skills on technical communication, documentation, project management, training, and continuous improvement
• Has the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, provide timely technical support in a production environment

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite working in a manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, and cleanroom environment.
• Regularly interacts in production areas, laboratories, equipment, process and cross‑functional teams.
• May require occasional support outside regular working hours during critical builds, investigations, or production escalations.
