Job summary

Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore in Manila, PH, is seeking an entry-level Compliance & Legal Officer to support a wide range of compliance and legal activities. You will assist in training, policy implementation, and contract review while gaining exposure to governance and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work hard and be flexible with timing and context.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Compliance Support: Assist in delivering compliance training and advice to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Compliance Programs: Support compliance initiatives rolled out by Head Office, including the Annual Compliance Declaration and related activities.
• Investigation & Ethics: Assist in investigating potential breaches of the Code of Ethics reported through whistleblowing systems and other channels; provide recommendations under supervision.
• Contract Support: Review and assist in negotiating client contracts to ensure alignment with Bureau Veritas principles and contracting standards.
• Corporate Governance: Support corporate governance activities, including maintaining registers and assisting Boards and Company Secretaries.
• Legal Assistance: Provide support across insurance, property, intellectual property, disputes, and compliance reporting matters.
