Job summary

Barclays Bangalore seeks an Engineering Lead to guide multiple engineering teams in delivering scalable software. You will mentor staff, shape technical direction, and ensure delivery of robust APIs, services, and workflows in a fast-paced environment.

You will work across product and operations to apply cloud-native patterns, CI/CD, and automated testing while aligning with business goals. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams (10+ members) and coaching technical talent.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Kafka, and JBPM/Kamunda.
• Proficiency in React and Micro Frontend Architecture, Liquibase and cloud platforms OpenShift/AWS.
• Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes deployments, API Gateway patterns, and Helm for Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of Core Java, concurrency, memory management, profiling, and SOLID design principles.
• Familiarity with JUnit, Mockito, and Spring testing frameworks; Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Bitbucket/Jira/Nexus).
• Ability to integrate Agentic AI to drive growth, automation, and innovation across the SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback across projects.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business partners to translate requirements into scalable architectures.
• Enforce coding standards, design reviews, and robust testing practices.
• Oversee risk, timelines, and resource allocation to meet objectives within scope and budget.
• Drive DevOps practices and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift.
