Job summary

Advanced Energy seeks an experienced Engineer III, NPI Quality to lead the site’s quality deliverables during new product launches. You will drive APQP activities, ensure design-to-process readiness, and coordinate with NPI teams to meet customer and internal requirements.

You bring at least five years in quality engineering within manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and familiar with PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and control plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
• Practical experience in APQP tools, NPI program management.
• Competent with 8D, FMEA, MSA, SPC and control plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead Advanced Quality Planning activities including gate reviews with the Business Unit and program team.
• Ensure product specifications are fully compliant for sample shipments.
• Execute PQP delivered from design site QPM and support PFMEA.
• Develop and implement Poke Yoke strategies and Control Plan controls.
• Coordinate readiness for launches and product/process changes.
• Attend launch program meetings and customer process reviews.
• Develop production process Control Plan, CTQ and Safe Launch Plan until start of production.
• Monitor FA part approval of supplied components.
• Conduct program gate reviews for MRM activities with evidence.
• Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launching programs.

Position Summary

The NPI Quality Engineer is responsible for manufacturing location’s NPI deliverables and confirms completion of the site’s quality documents required internally and by the customer during the initial launch phases of a product, in conjunction with NPI team. This role will report to the NPI Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

• Liaison for the site for all Advanced Quality Planning activities including internal gate reviews with the Business Unit and with the program team.
• Ensure that product specifications fully compliance for sample shipment.
• Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM (Quality program manager)
• Support PFMEA activity to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on the development and implementation of any Poke Yoke strategy and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan
• Responsible for the confirmation and completion of the manufacturing location’s readiness for launching programs and product/process changes.
• Support and attend launch program meetings and customer process reviews/audits.
• Coordinates the development of production process Control Plan, CTQ and Safe Launch Plan and keep update until formal program start of production.
• Monitors the FA part approval of supplied components.
• Conduct program gate reviews to confirm site MRM (Manufacturing readiness Matrix) activities are complete with the appropriate evidence, readiness assessment is completed and all site MRM documents are on time to program commitments.
• Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launching programs are conducted.

Qualifications

• Minimum Five (5) years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is a must
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited institution
• Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
• Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and NPI program management
• Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology: Is-Is Not, Fishbone diagram, Brainstorming, 3x5 Why
• Competent in quality tools, and process/production control methods such as Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Product life cycle and Reliability
• Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements.
