Job summary

HedgeServ in Manila, Philippines, seeks a Python Developer to design, build, and maintain applications for internal and external clients. You will collaborate with developers, QA, and operations to ensure a reliable, scalable pipeline and high-quality software.

The ideal candidate has a CS degree, strong OO Python skills, experience with SQL/MongoDB, RESTful APIs, and AWS services, and understands Agile and TDD. Docker/Kubernetes familiarity is a plus; remote/hybrid options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, preferably in Python.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Experience in teams that value unit and acceptance testing, especially Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Hands-on experience with SQL and/or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with building RESTful APIs.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Understanding of Agile best practices and values.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as SQS, S3, and SNS.
• Experience working across teams and contributing to cross-platform or shared platform initiatives.

Job Description

The Python Developer plays a key role in designing, building, and maintaining applications for internal and external clients. Working closely with developers, QA engineers, application support teams, and infrastructure automation specialists, this role helps ensure a reliable and efficient development and operational pipeline. The successful candidate will be a strong engineer with experience developing and supporting modern Python-based applications in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code with a strong focus on code review, pairing, and continuous delivery.
• Collaborate with QA and business analysts to create and maintain automated tests and improve testing tools.
• Partner with operations teams to ensure applications run effectively and efficiently in production.
• Work across teams to understand business needs, improve technical practices, and support platform-wide solutions.
• Participate in design discussions for future development and system evolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with object-oriented programming in any language, with Python preferred.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Experience working in teams that value unit and acceptance testing, particularly Test-Driven Development (TDD).
