Newport World Resorts is seeking an EMS Duty Officer to oversee emergency medical operations, ensure readiness of personnel, and optimize care delivery in urgent situations.

The role includes supervising EMS responders, coordinating patient transfers, and contributing to disaster preparedness plans. A BSN or health-related degree with at least two years in EMS and knowledge of BLS/ALS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Nursing (BSN) or any health-related field.
  • Has at least two (2) years of relevant experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
  • Knowledgeable on Basic and Advanced Life Support and EMS system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced emergency medical care and guide responders in patient evaluation.
  • Supervise EMS Responders and Operators in performing appropriate and timely interventions.
  • Coordinate and oversee the transfer of patients to hospitals, with pre-arrival notifications.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of emergency response standards and adherence by EMS personnel.
  • Coordinate EMS personnel deployment for routine and special events, providing on-site medical coverage.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of disaster preparedness plans.
  • Conduct regular checks of EMS equipment and ambulances to ensure readiness.
  • Facilitate EMS training, lectures, and continuing education programs.
  • Promote workplace safety and emergency safety protocols.
  • Review responder’s patient care reports for accuracy and maintain records.
  • Escalate and communicate incidents per established protocols.

JOB SUMMARY

The EMS Duty Officer is responsible for the direct execution and implementation of emergency medical operations, ensuring personnel are prepared for immediate response, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the emergency services program to optimize emergency medical care delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Emergency Medical Response and Patient Care
  • Provide advanced emergency medical care and guide responders in patient evaluation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical assistance at the scene.

  • Supervise EMS Responders and Operators in performing appropriate and timely interventions, optimizing patient outcomes in emergency situations.

  • Coordinate and oversee the efficient transfer of patients to hospitals, including pre-arrival notifications, ensuring continuity of care and timely medical attention.

Emergency Response Operations and Preparedness
  • Ensure consistent implementation of emergency response standards and adherence by all EMS personnel, maintaining a high level of operational readiness.

  • Coordinate EMS personnel deployment for routine and special events, providing effective on-site medical coverage and support.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of disaster preparedness plans, enhancing the organization's capacity to respond to large-scale emergencies.

  • Conduct regular checks of all EMS equipment and ambulances, ensuring they are in optimal working condition and readily available for deployment.

Training and Education
  • Facilitate and oversee EMS training, lectures, and continuing education programs, ensuring the professional development and competency of EMS personnel.

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and emergency medical response programs, promoting a culture of safety and preparedness.

  • Promote workplace safety and accident prevention through emergency safety protocols

Reporting and Documentation
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of incident reports to the EMS Asst. Manager, facilitating effective communication and documentation of emergency events.

  • Review EMS responder’s patient care reports for accuracy and completeness, maintaining thorough and reliable patient records.

  • Maintain proper escalation and communication of incidents according to established protocols, ensuring appropriate and timely response and resolution.

People Management
  • Performance Management: Manage and drive high performance among direct reports, and help them achieve their performance goals . This also includes conducting performance evaluations.

  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provides guidance to direct reports in performing their areas of responsibility, and supports their growth and development.

  • Employee Engagement: Implement initiatives and provide a work environment that will promote employee engagement and high commitment to the company.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Nursing (BSN) or any health-related field.

  • Has at least two (2) years of relevant experience in the field of Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
