Job summary

Optum is seeking a Security Engineer, Email Security to design, implement and maintain enterprise email security. The role focuses on platform architecture, governance, and secure baseline management within our global health tech infrastructure.

You will lead evaluations, configure AI-driven tooling, monitor defenses, and drive roadmaps aligned with industry standards. A Bachelor's or 4+ years in info security, plus hands-on DMARC/DKIM/SPF and SIEM/XDR experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of equivalent information security or software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical SME for enterprise email security and design scalable architectures.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, secure baselines, and architecture documentation.
• Lead POV/POC evaluations for emerging email security capabilities and vendor offerings.
• Monitor configuration drift and ensure alignment with security baselines.
• Automate workflows using AI tools and scripting to improve security operations.
• Evaluate trends and contribute to multi-year security roadmaps and initiatives.
• Administer CrowdStrike and Defender for Endpoint for assigned clients.
• Perform daily endpoint security checks and tune protections.
• Configure exclusions and false positives; manage EDR policies and telemetry dashboards.
