About the role
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of the hospital's electrical distribution systems, electrical equipment, building auxiliary systems, and selected low-voltage electronic systems. The position also provides technical support to the Biomedical Engineering Section for the installation, maintenance, electrical safety, and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment. The Electrician ensures that all work is performed safely and in accordance with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), applicable regulatory requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Standards, and hospital policies to maintain a safe, reliable, and uninterrupted healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical wiring systems, panels, switchboards, circuit breakers, transformers, receptacles, lighting systems, and other electrical equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the hospital's electrical distribution system based on approved maintenance schedules
- Support testing and commissioning activities for newly installed electrical and auxiliary systems
- Coordinate with third-party contractors and service providers during preventive maintenance, repairs, testing, and system upgrades
- Assist the Biomedical Engineering Section during the installation, relocation, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment requiring electrical support
- Ensure electrical work complies with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and applicable DOLE, DOH, Occupational Safety and Health, and other regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and updated records of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, and equipment condition
- Assist in preparing maintenance reports, electrical load assessments, material estimates, and other technical documentation
About you
- Graduate of Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, or a related technical field
- Registered Master Electrician (RME) with a valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in electrical installation, maintenance, facilities engineering, or a related field, preferably in a hospital, commercial, industrial, or institutional environment
- Knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), electrical distribution systems, emergency power systems, and electrical safety standards
- Proficient in reading electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and during emergency maintenance activities
- Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance requirements when necessary
