Job Summary
The Master Electrician is responsible for planning, supervising, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards. The position oversees electrical personnel, ensures the quality of electrical installations, and provides technical expertise for construction, industrial, commercial, and solar energy projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), applicable government regulations, and company standards.
- Install, inspect, test, commission, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, switchgear, panels, transformers, motors, generators, and related equipment.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to electricians, electrical technicians, and subcontractors.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure electrical installations meet project specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, equipment failures, and system deficiencies.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
- Prepare material estimates, manpower requirements, and work schedules for electrical activities.
- Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within the approved timeline and budget.
- Implement and enforce workplace safety policies and electrical safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of electrical tools, equipment, and testing instruments.
- Prepare daily accomplishment reports, inspection reports, testing records, and other project documentation.
- Assist during electrical inspections, testing, commissioning, and project turnover.
- Stay updated on changes in electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Perform other duties assigned by management related to the position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or completion of a recognized electrical vocational or technical program.
- Valid Master Electrician License issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or construction, preferably in commercial, industrial, or solar projects.
- Extensive knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), electrical safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Experience supervising electrical personnel and managing electrical works.
- Proficient in reading electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Proficient in using electrical testing instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Willing to work at project sites and travel as required.

Working Conditions

- May be exposed to electrical hazards, varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
- Required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety regulations.
