Job summary

OCS Philippines is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Designer to plan, design, and review electrical systems for hospital facilities on site. You will ensure compliance with healthcare standards and safety regulations while supporting uninterrupted hospital operations.

The role requires collaboration with architects, medical planners, and multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and local codes is essential, with a focus on emergency power and life safety systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Electrical Engineer (preferred or required, depending on regulation)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in hospital or healthcare facilities
• Strong knowledge of hospital electrical systems, emergency power requirements, and life safety standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software
• Familiarity with local electrical codes and healthcare facility standards
• Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for hospital facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems
• Prepare electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and technical drawings using CAD/BIM software
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, medical planners, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into hospital designs
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, hospital standards, and applicable healthcare regulations (e.g., emergency power and life safety systems)
• Design and review essential electrical systems such as emergency generators, UPS, nurse call systems, fire alarm systems, and critical power systems
• Conduct site inspections to verify design compliance, installation quality, and adherence to safety standards
• Provide technical support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and technical specifications
• Identify design risks and recommend cost-effective and reliable solutions
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and as-built drawings
