Job description

The Electrical Engineer will be supporting Planate Management Group’s various clients in providing design plans on activities which consist of all aspects of electrical engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Perform design work for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities
• Interpret and adapt traditional methods and approaches in developing design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards
• Provide QA/QC work as needed
• Responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers
• Develop cost estimates and time schedules, review and analyze preliminary and final designs, plans, and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy
• Prepare necessary correspondence, technical reports, contract documents, fact sheets, and status reports and prepare final construction drawings suitable for obtaining qualified bids from contractors
• Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications and safety standards
• Use computer-assisted engineering software (AutoCAD, coordination studies, load analysis) to perform engineering tasks as assigned
• Support the different divisions with scope, programming, and scheduling definition
• Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects, and serve as a mentor to less experienced engineers in the division
• Adapt to current and latest technical innovations in electrical engineering
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Qualifications

• Licensed Electrical Engineer
• Must have a minimum of 7 years in design and field experience
• Experience and familiarity with Federal building design criteria and construction guide specifications is an advantage

• Proficient in AutoCAD and other Microsoft Office applications
