Job summary

Shore360 in the Philippines is seeking an electrical design engineer for LV switchgear projects. You will design, estimate, and prepare workshop drawings while ensuring compliance with regulatory and client standards.

Work with engineering teams to address project needs, verify components, and translate diagrams into GA drawings for quotations. Knowledge of LV switchgear and industry standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design and estimation for switchgear projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
• Familiarity with LV switchgear components and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and estimate LV switchgear including main switchboards and meter panels.
• Prepare detailed workshop drawings and single-line diagrams for client submission.
• Review consultant/client requirements for compliance with switchgear specs and design standards.
• Ensure switchgear designs comply with relevant metering rules and guidelines.
• Coordinate with engineers and clients to address project requirements and issues.
• Verify component availability before manufacturing.
• Convert single-line diagrams to GA drawings for quotations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of switchgear and controlgear systems from various manufacturers.
• Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings, especially single-line diagrams.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for the electrical design and estimation of low-voltage switchgear, including main switchboards, distribution boards, and meter panels.

• Prepare detailed workshop drawings and proposed single-line diagrams for submission to clients.

• Review consultant and client requirements to ensure compliance with switchgear specifications and design standards.

• Ensure all switchgear designs comply with the latest Queensland (QLD) and New South Wales (NSW) metering rules, regulations, and guidelines.

• Coordinate with engineers and clients to address project requirements, design concerns, and technical issues.

• Verify that all required switchgear components are complete and available before proceeding with manufacturing.

• Interpret engineering drawings and convert single-line diagrams into general arrangement (GA) drawings for quotation purposes.

• Demonstrate knowledge of switchgear and controlgear systems from various manufacturers.

• Read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, particularly single-line diagrams.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar electrical design and estimation role.

• Background in Electrical Engineering or the electrical trade.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical engineering drawings, particularly single-line diagrams.

• Knowledge of low-voltage switchgear design, components, and industry standards is highly desirable.
