Job summary

AFRY seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for the Manila Energy team to design and review MV/LV systems up to 34.5 kV for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality engineering and compliance with project requirements.

The role requires 7+ years in MV/LV design, with strong knowledge of cable routing and relevant engineering software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in MV/LV design.
• Experience designing MV/LV up to 34.5 kV, preferably for renewable energy, power or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with EPC contractor design teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV cable routing methodologies and engineering software.
• Knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC, ANSI and other standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
• Professional Engineer (PRC Licensed Electrical Engineer) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and review MV/LV electrical systems for renewable energy and infrastructure projects (up to 34.5 kV).
• Review auxiliary electrical systems and equipment (transformers, panels, UPS, batteries, lighting, protection).
• Develop and optimise MV/LV cable routing layouts.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities for electrical equipment and cabling.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review technical submittals, specifications, calculations, and drawings.
• Provide technical support through development, procurement and construction phases.
• Ensure deliverables meet schedules and AFRY standards.

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer – Medium & Low Voltage (MV/LV) to join our Energy team in Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and review of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and EPC contractors, you will contribute to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet project requirements, industry standards, and client expectations.

• Design and review medium- and low-voltage electrical systems (up to 34.5 kV) for renewable energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards.
• Review the design of auxiliary electrical systems and equipment, including auxiliary transformers, distribution boards, panelboards, UPS systems, batteries, lighting, lightning protection, and fire protection systems.
• Develop and optimise MV and LV cable routing layouts, ensuring efficient, safe, and constructible designs.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for electrical equipment, cabling, and associated systems to support project budgeting and procurement.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure engineering designs are effectively integrated into project execution.
• Review and evaluate technical submittals, specifications, calculations, and drawings prepared by contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Provide technical support throughout project development, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality standards, and AFRY procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the design of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Proven experience in designing MV and LV systems up to 34.5 kV, preferably for renewable energy, power, or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working within or alongside EPC contractor design teams on large-scale engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of MV/LV cable routing design methodologies and relevant engineering software.Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and technical documentation.
• Sound knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC, ANSI, and other applicable international standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and multicultural project environments.
• Professional Engineer (PRC Licensed Electrical Engineer) is an advantage.
