Job summary

Universal Robina Corporation is hiring an EHS Officer to lead safety, health, and environmental initiatives across the site in Pasig. The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, incident management, and regulatory alignment with agencies such as DENR, DOLE, and BFP.

The successful candidate will implement action plans, conduct safety training, and participate in Internal Audit to ensure GMP and ISO standards compliance. Willingness to work in Bagong Ilog Pasig City is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Occupational Safety, Engineering, or Environmental Science.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, manage, and synthesize safety, health, and environment metrics and incidents as prescribed by regulators.
• Create and monitor action plans for safety, health, and environment and coordinate with Department Heads.
• Champion behavioural-based safety and conduct related training.
• Investigate occupational safety, health, and environment violations and incidents; prepare timely reports.
• Coordinate policy implementation with Department Heads and align with EHS standards (ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, HALAL, FSSC).
• Part of Internal Audit to ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 45001, ISO 18001, ISO 9001, HACCP, HALAL, FSSC standards.
• Manage budget allocation for EHS programs and related activities.
• Provide consultation, coaching, and mentoring on safety, health, and environment topics.
• Represent the organization with Local Government Units and URC plants on EHS matters.
• Engage in dialogues with Local Government Units on EHS topics and partnerships.
• Lead programs for emergency preparedness, pollution control, disaster risk management, and business continuity.
• Assume Plant Pollution Control Officer duties when needed.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities

• Consolidate, manage, and synthesize data points and performance metrics related to occupational safety, health, and environment including, but not limited to, incident rates, loss time incidences, water and energy usage ratios, and regulatory compliance as prescribed by the Local Government Unit and executive agencies and branches including but not limited to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Bureau of Fire protection (BFP), etc.

• Create strategies and action plans relevant to occupational safety, health, and environment, and monitor implementation of such action plans; and coordinate such action plans to Department Heads and/or their authorized representatives;

• Champion behavioural-based safety, and conduct necessary and relevant training programs related to increasing awareness, continuous improvements, and enforcing policies related to occupational safety, health, and environment;

• Conduct investigations on violations and incidences related to occupational safety, health, and environment; and prepare reports within the prescribed timelines or as needed

• Coordinate with Department Heads in implementing policies and internal memorandum related to occupational safety, health, and environment; and alignment with updates on implemented policies and standards related but not limited to EHS Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 9001:2015 (QMS), HACCP, HALAL, and FSSC;

• Form part of the Internal Audit team and ensure compliance on, established management systems, including but not limited to, Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 45001 (OHSMS), ISO 18001 (EMS), ISO 9001 (QMS), HACCP, HALAL, FSSC

• Manage allocation, disbursement, purchasing and liquidation of budget for programs related to occupational safety, health, and environment;

• Provide consultation, coaching and mentoring on items related to occupational safety, health, and environment;

• Represent the organization, as needed, in functional congregations, especially in liaising with the Corporate EHS, and other EHS Engineers from different URC Plants;

• Represent the organization, as needed, in dialogues and partnership activities with the Local Government Units and other executive branches on items related to occupational safety, health, and environment

• Manage, implement and lead execution of programs and processes for emergency preparedness, pollution control, disaster risk management, pandemic or epidemic business continuity plan, and other relevant function;

• Assumes the role of Plant Pollution Control Officer in the absence of designated PCO.

What are the Qualifications?

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, Environmental Science, or any related course

• Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer (SO2 / SO3 / SO4), with BOSH/COSH training certificate

• With at least 1–3 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in manufacturing, plant, construction, or FMCG environment

• Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and DOLE regulations

• Safety audits, inspections, and compliance reporting

• Willing to work in Bagong Ilog Pasig City
