Job summary

GHD is seeking an Earthing/Grounding Design Engineer to support our Power Group. You will design and analyze grounding and earthing systems for transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects, ensuring safety and reliability of critical power infrastructure.

Based in the Philippines with a hybrid work model (office three days a week in Makati or Cebu), you will perform calculations, prepare reports, review vendor submissions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while mentoring

Qualifications

• Registered Electrical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in HV/MV substations, renewable energy, BESS, or power infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, with strong technical report writing, analytical, and engineering documentation skills.
• Experience reviewing vendor drawings, technical submissions, and design documentation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.
• Experience in earthing/grounding and lightning protection design, including grounding studies and risk assessments.
• Working knowledge of ETAP, CDEGS, or equivalent grounding analysis software.
• Exposure to substation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and BESS projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver earthing, grounding, and lightning protection designs for substation, renewable energy, and power infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, grounding studies, data analysis, and design development using industry-standard software.
• Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and project deliverables.
• Support site investigations, field testing, and review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
• Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
• Assist with project coordination, proposal development, and mentoring of junior team members.
