Job summary

Winford Manila Resort and Casino is seeking a dedicated Duty Engineer to oversee electrical and mechanical systems across our Santa Cruz, Manila City facilities. This full-time role focuses on safe, efficient operation and high standards of comfort and safety for guests and staff.

The ideal candidate holds an Electrical Engineering qualification with a Philippine Professional License and 3–5 years of experience in large hospitality or commercial facilities.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Diploma/Bachelor).
• Valid Philippine Professional License for Electrical Engineer or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience as Duty Engineer or similar in hospitality, resort, casino or large facility.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution and control systems.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance programmes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect electrical/electronic systems for safety and performance.
• Perform routine maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Respond to breakdowns; diagnose faults and minimise downtime.
• Conduct daily rounds on HVAC, generators and critical infrastructure.
• Maintain detailed logs of inspections and maintenance work.
• Coordinate with external contractors for major repairs or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
• Support engineering leadership with technical reports and recommendations.
• Supervise junior technicians and coordinate shift handovers.

About the role

Winford Manila Resort and Casino is seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a full-time position based at our Santa Cruz, Manila City location in Metro Manila. As Duty Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all mechanical, electrical and electronic systems throughout our resort and casino facilities. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards of comfort, safety and service that our guests and staff depend on daily.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect all electrical and electronic systems, equipment and installations throughout the resort and casino to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Perform routine maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm systems
• Respond promptly to mechanical and electrical breakdowns and emergency calls, diagnosing faults and implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime
• Conduct daily rounds of the facility to check HVAC systems, backup generators, water pumps and other critical infrastructure
• Maintain detailed logbooks and records of all equipment inspections, maintenance work and system performance data
• Collaborate with external contractors and service providers on major repairs, installations and system upgrades
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, building codes and relevant Philippine engineering standards
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks to extend equipment life and prevent unexpected failures
• Support the Chief Engineer and senior management with technical reports and recommendations on facility improvements
• Supervise junior technicians and coordinate shift handovers to ensure continuity of operations

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, such as a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Valid Philippine Professional License as an Electrical Engineer or equivalent recognised certification
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience working as a Duty Engineer or similar role in a large hospitality, resort, casino or commercial facility
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control systems and building management systems
• Competent in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical and electronic faults using appropriate test equipment
• Practical experience with preventative maintenance programmes and predictive maintenance techniques
• Thorough understanding of electrical safety standards, building codes and relevant Philippine engineering regulations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure in emergency situations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Physical fitness and willingness to perform duties that may require climbing, bending and working in confined spaces
• Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems is advantageous
• Knowledge of fire safety systems, emergency protocols and business continuity procedures is desirable
