Job summary

Makati Shangri-La, Manila is seeking a dedicated Duty Engineer to ensure hotel equipment and areas are maintained to Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts standards. The role requires coordinating with engineering staff, monitoring energy usage, and upholding OH&S policies.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in the field, a technical certificate in Mechanics or Electricity, strong communication skills, and the ability to train and lead others while delivering quality results.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in the same field.
• Certificate from a Technical College in Mechanics or Electricity or equivalent.
• Demonstrates awareness of OH&S policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate hotel equipment and areas per Shangri-La standards.
• Check daily utilities readings and ensure efficient operation.
• Ensure engineering staff follow established standards and procedures.
• Conduct shift briefings to align activities with requirements.
• Manage technicians and record work processes for the property.
• Oversee energy management within the Engineering Department.
• Demonstrate grooming and hygiene standards during spot checks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

We are hiring for a Duty Engineer.

As a Duty Engineer, we rely you to:

• Ensurethat the Hotel equipment and areas are maintained and operated in accordance with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts standard
• Check daily utilities readings and make sure operation is most efficient.
• Ensureall engineering employees follow the Engineering Standards and Procedures as issued from time to time.
• Conductshift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
• Managethe technicianto maintain all machinery equipment and record work process for the property.
• Responsible for the proper organization and functioning of the energy management function of the Engineering Department.
• Demonstrate awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure direct reports do the same.
• Analyseand monitorenergy costs and expenditures for the department.
• Ensurethat personal grooming and hygiene standards are being observed doing spot checks in the morning.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.

• Has proper bearing, good health, physically fit, neat & pleasant
• Has at least 5years experience in the same field.
• Has certificate from Technical College in Mechanics or Electricity or equivalent.
• Demonstrates awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines. In addition, first aid and fire and emergency procedures.
