Job summary

American Express in the Philippines is seeking an experienced people leader to oversee the global Business Process Services (BPS) organization within Technology Vendor Management. The role sets strategic direction, builds capability, and drives continuous improvement across a high-volume operating environment.

With 8–12 years in tech infrastructure/vendor management and 5+ years in leadership, you will partner with senior stakeholders, drive transformation, and ensure robust risk governance

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in technology infrastructure vendor management, contract management, sourcing, procurement, and/or third-party risk management.
• 5+ years in leadership, building and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
• Experience leading teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Familiarity with Vendor Management Systems such as SAP Fieldglass, Workday, Beeline, or Coupa.
• Strong strategic leadership with ability to translate priorities into outcomes.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

How will you make an impact in this role?

Business Process Services (BPS), within Technology Vendor Management (TVM), provides operational, product, and compliance support across the Technology contractor lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced people leader to oversee the global BPS organization with team members located in Phoenix and Manila. This role will set strategic direction, develop organizational capability, strengthen partnerships, and drive continuous improvement across a complex, high-volume operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, development, and continuous improvement.
• Set the strategic direction for BPS, translating business priorities into clear objectives and ensuring the organization has the capabilities, processes, and operating model to deliver effectively.
• Build trusted partnerships and influence across the organization, working with Technology leaders, HR / Colleague Experience Group, Global Supply Management, Product, Risk, Finance, and other key stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
• Champion operational excellence, using data and insights to improve performance, simplify processes, enhance the customer experience, and identify opportunities for automation and transformation.
• Serve as the strategic business partner to the Product team, representing BPS priorities and customer needs while influencing product roadmaps, capability development, and ongoing optimization.
• Provide strong risk and control leadership, ensuring effective governance, sound decision-making, and appropriate management of operational and compliance risk.
• Lead through change, helping the organization successfully adopt evolving processes, policies, and technology, including recently implemented capabilities such as Fieldglass.
• Exercise sound judgment and executive leadership in navigating complex issues, competing priorities, and senior-level escalations.
• Develop talent and organizational capability, building a strong leadership pipeline and ensuring the team is positioned to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8-12 years of experience in technology infrastructure vendor management, contract management, sourcing, procurement, and/or third-party risk management.
• 5+ years of leadership experience, including building and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Familiarity with enterprise Vendor Management Systems with solutions such as SAP Fieldglass, Workday, Beeline, or Coupa Contingent Workforce.
• Strong strategic leadership with demonstrated ability to translate business priorities into organizational outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across functions.
• Experience driving operational excellence, transformation, and sustainable organizational change.
• Strong risk and control mindset with experience operating in a regulated or highly controlled environment.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent).
• Experience in Technology operations, vendor or workforce management, procurement, business process management, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading technology-enabled transformation and continuous improvement.

• Workplace Flexibility: Full time. Must be amenable to follow a hybrid work arrangement (onsite and work from home)
