Job Description

Job Summary: Directors in Product Development/Management at Visa are responsible for leading the development, commercialization, and optimization of technology products within the payments ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in product strategy, design, and execution, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that address customer needs and drive business growth. Directors operate in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across functions to define product goals, manage lifecycles, and ensure successful launches and ongoing enhancements. The position demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a proven track record of recruiting, growing, and retaining technical talent. Directors are expected to drive consensus in cross-functional teams, forecast business trends, and translate insights into agile technology solutions. Exceptional communication and leadership skills are essential for influencing stakeholders and building credibility across regional and functional lines. All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the Philippines Digital Solutions strategy across key growth areas including digital credentials, tokenization, wallets, authentication, digital acceptance, and emerging digital payment solutions.
• Identify market opportunities and develop product strategies, business cases, commercialization plans, and go-to-market initiatives that drive revenue growth and client adoption.
• Lead end-to-end execution from strategy development and client engagement through implementation, launch, adoption, and performance optimization.
• Partner with issuers, acquirers, fintechs, merchants, wallets, payment facilitators, and ecosystem partners to accelerate deployment and scale of digital payment solutions.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for Visa's digital product suite, providing strategic advisory and implementation guidance to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Lead market implementation and compliance of Visa mandates, operating regulations, rules changes, security standards, and digital payment requirements, partnering closely with clients to ensure timely readiness and execution.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Client Services, Technology, Risk, Legal, Marketing, Finance, and Regional Product teams to deliver strategic initiatives and resolve complex implementation challenges.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.
• Experience in creating vision statements and setting product goals.

• Experience in product design.
• Experience in customer discovery and the design of new products based on that discovery.
• Experience in product execution.
• Experience in defining and leading plans to achieve product goals.

• Strong commercial acumen and ability to forecast business trends.

Preferred Qualifications

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
• Senior product management experience in Digital, Payments, and Financial Services.
• Proven track record of launching and managing digital products for issuers.
• Deep background in issuing institutions and managing large card portfolios.
• Experience in developing or launching new solutions and managing engagement, UX, and UI transformation.
• Experience leading difficult deal negotiations and managing third-party vendors.
• Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated intellectual rigor.
• Experience managing diverse teams with positive records.
