Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Senior Data Leader to orchestrate the end-to-end data lifecycle, focusing on acquisition, operations, quality, governance, and metadata management. You will guide vendor management, data strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-value data solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in data management or analytics, a CDMP certification, and proven leadership in financial services data environments. Hybrid work with some on-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• CDMP certification and senior leadership experience.
• 8+ years in data management, data strategy or analytics.
• Experience in credit reporting or financial services.
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data lifecycle with focus on acquisition, operations, quality, governance, and metadata management.
• Own sourcing of high-value datasets, vendor management, and commercial negotiations.
• Oversee data ingestion, monitoring, issue resolution, and optimization of data providers.
• Act as data acquisition SME, aligning data investments with business priorities.
• Design and optimize data operations to improve efficiency, resilience, and compliance.
• Establish data quality metrics, governance frameworks, and KPIs for data integrity.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of complex multi-stream data initiatives from design to delivery.
• Mentor data professionals and collaborate with executives and stakeholders.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

The role will lead the end-to-end data lifecycle with the emphasis on:

• Data acquisition
• Data operations
• Data quality
• Data governance
• Reference and master data management
• Metadata management

• Lead the sourcing of high‑value datasets and strategic partners, owning the end‑to‑end data acquisition lifecycle, including strategy, vendor management, and commercial negotiations
• Oversee acquisition execution and performance, including ingestion, monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous optimization of data providers
• Serve as the data acquisition SME, advising stakeholders and aligning data investments with business priorities
• Design, optimize and automate data operations workflows and processes to improve efficiency, resilience, quality, data compliance, scalability and reduce key‑person dependency
• Proactively establish and monitor data quality and maturity metrics, governance frameworks, and operational KPIs to ensure data integrity and usability whilst enabling revenue growth and risk reduction
• Provide end‑to‑end ownership of complex, multi‑stream data initiatives, guiding programs from design to delivery while proactively managing timelines, risks, and value realization
• Leverage and contribute to data best practices in the global regions
• Serve as an industry subject matter expert, assessing external market and competitive developments and aligning insights with divisional strategy and operations
• Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with senior executives, internal stakeholders, external data providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure data availability and compliance
• Partner with data science, product, and technology teams to ensure data assets are optimized for analytics and product development

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• CDMP Certified 8+ years of experience in data management, data strategy, or analytics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage complex data environments, handle multiple priorities, stay highly organized, and deliver results under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in credit reporting or the financial services industry.
• Deep understanding of sourcing data, ingestion pipelines, data quality frameworks, software development, DB structures and governance best practices.
• Experience working with regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Strong leadership, communication, facilitation and negotiation skills are required.
• Operates independently and proactively, applying strong business acumen to convert data capabilities into measurable commercial outcomes.
• Provides strategic direction, coaches and mentors associates across managerial and technical levels.
• Embed compliance by design through upfront validation, controls, and continuous monitoring.
