Job summary

Vera Solutions is seeking a DevOps Intern to join the Development/Products team in supporting and implementing new features across Vera’s products. The focus is on automation, reliability, and securing CI/CD pipelines, ensuring security is embedded in delivery.

The role offers a modest stipend and growth opportunities. The intern will learn secure development practices, collaborate with a diverse team, and contribute to improving Pipelines, SAST checks, secrets management, and cloud tooling

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Awareness of common application security concepts (OWASP Top 10, authn/authz).
• Demonstrated success working in a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Diligent work ethic and drive.
• Willingness to commit to a 1-year internship.
• Foundations in source control (GitHub/GitLab).
• Exposure to security tooling (SonarQube, Snyk, Dependabot, etc).
• Familiarity with cloud DevOps (Azure/AWS).
• Awareness of privacy frameworks and security standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching and testing CI/CD automations and tooling.
• Support DevOps lead in applying best practices in CI/CD.
• Collaborate with Engineering to automate repetitive processes.
• Adopt and share internal best practices and keep up with trends.
• Integrate automated security checks into pipelines (SAST, dependencies).
• Assist with secrets management and auditing repositories.
• Help with access reviews across tools and cloud environments.
• Support periodic security reviews and model checks.
• Document findings from automated scans and remediation efforts.
• Contribute to internal security documentation and checklists.
