Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology in the Philippines is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design thermal solutions for heating and temperature sensing in gas and liquid delivery systems. You will use CAD tools to realize concepts, collaborate with internal teams, and present to sales/operations as needed.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in semiconductor capital equipment design, with strong knowledge of thermal management and electrical design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience is mandatory.
• 5+ years design experience in semiconductor capital equipment; experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.
• Proven ability to research customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Designs thermal solutions for heating and temperature sensing applications in gas and liquid delivery systems using CAD software.
• Possess engineer-to-engineer product/project development experience and ability to present to sales/operations staff.
• Researches data from customer proposals and specs to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Collaborates with UCT account managers and operations to complete design requirements per customer specs.
• Coordinates with Thermal manufacturing for fabrication, test, and installation to meet design and customer specs.
• Participates in design review meetings and follows the NPI process via MS Teams in PST.
• May participate in customer presentations with sales/operations staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs thermal solutions both heating and temperature sensing applications for both gas and/or liquid delivery systems, using Cad software to execute designs.
• Possess some (engineer to engineer) product\project development experience; along with, the ability to provide presentations to sales/operations staff when required.
• Ability to research and analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility of design or application
• Responsible to work with internal UCT account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to customers’ specifications
• Coordinates with UCT Thermal manufacturing assisting in the fabrication, test, and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
• Participate in design review meetings with internal staff and to follow the NPI process via MS Teams in PST.
• Potentially participate in customer presentations with sales/operations staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Personal and or professional experience working physically with tools and manufacturing equipment

• Must have working knowledge of CAD software - AutoDesk 3D Inventor, and AutoCAD 2D, and SolidWorks.
• A working understanding to effectively work within the Agile database
• Knowledge of SAP preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with operations and other groups to ensure that site delivery and quality issues are met
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database software
• A fundamental understanding of thermal applications and material properties

Educational/Certification Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience is mandatory.

Experience Requirement

Work Experience

• 5+ years design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating or related industry. Experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.
• Experience with thermal management and electrical design preferred.
• Hands on experience with prototyping and testing is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Work Environment

• Work may require the ability to lift 10-20 pounds infrequently
• Ability to attend MS Teams meetings and use a computer for extended periods of time will be required. Attend meetings in PST

Environmental Exposure

• May involve exposure to moderate noise levels from manufacturing process equipment.
• May have exposure to silicones, fiberglass and epoxies used in the fabrication of thermal products.

Overnight Travel

• Work could require out of town travel depending upon assignment for (training and meeting).
• Training to include 2-3 months of extensive US Hayward including but not limited to: Fabrication, designing and testing of Thermal Products.
