Job summary

Haskell in Pasig, Philippines is seeking a Design Professional to produce innovative designs, drawings, and specifications for assigned projects. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering and has at least 2 years of experience in architectural design.

This role includes responsibilities like conceptual design, detailed design checks, and assisting in construction documentation. The position offers a hybrid work setup and comprehensive benefits starting on day one.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of significant experience in Architectural design works.
  • Registered Architect preferred.
  • Understanding of local building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, cost-effective designs and specifications.
  • Perform dimensional checks and calculations as assigned.
  • Assist Lead Professional with drawing coordination and detailing.
  • Check shop drawings and submittals for contract compliance.
  • Develop project work plans and monitor workload status.

Job description

Scope of Position

As a design professional, for the production of innovative, appropriate, cost-effective designs, drawings and specifications in their discipline for assigned projects. Emerges to an independent resource and begins to coordinate work with other disciplines. Works to fulfill experience requirements for eligibility to take professional license exam.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conceptual Design
    • Establish discipline basis of design for Design Manager review.
  • Detailed Design
    • Analysis Ability
    • Performs dimensional, interference, and basic design checks on the layouts and sketches of Licensed Professionals and, as requested, on interdisciplinary drawing sets.
    • Performs analysis or calculations as assigned.
    • Designing for safety incorporated into drawings.
    • Responsible for design compliance with Owner criteria.
  • Detailing
    • Applies discipline design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs and specifications under the supervision of and subject to final approval by the Lead Professional.
    • Assists Lead Professional with plotting/production/assembly of drawing packages and writing specifications.
    • Code compliance review with a design professional.
    • Maintains AE checklists for Design Manager review.
    • Participates in coordination review sessions.
    • Maintains orderly work files and prepares clear, well written memos/correspondence. When assigned, prepares presentation materials.
    • Coordinates and checks work carefully to minimize all deficiencies, errors, and omissions.
    • Uses Haskell standards and procedures.
  • Construction Documents
    • Produces well-organized, finished design documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity and correctness from layouts, sketches or written instructions.
  • Construction Support
    • Subject to final approval of Lead Professional, checks shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents.
    • Assists Lead Professional in field inspections, development of solutions to field problems, preparation of field orders, addenda, and record drawings.
    • Shop drawings returned on schedule.
    • Responds to field/construction questions as directed by discipline leader.
    • Creates inspection reports and punch lists.
  • Planning, Scheduling, and Profitability
    • Creates work plan for assigned tasks.
    • Monitors and projects personal workload status, advising supervisor of difficulties in accomplishing schedules.
    • Meets scheduled key dates.
    • Discusses progress regularly with Licensed Professional of Record.
    • Advises Design Manager of changes.
    • Design to budget man-hours.
  • Project Management
    • Adhere to project strategy.
    • Documents meetings and telephone conversations in order to communicate to discipline leader.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
Education & Years of Experience
  • Design Associate I: Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering required.
  • With at least (2) years of significant experience in Architectural design works.
Qualifications
  • Preferably Registered Architect
  • Understanding of compliance requirements (Local building codes and regulations)
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency with relevant design applications such as Revit, AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe Suite.
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
