Job summary

Author Solutions Philippines Inc. in Cebu City is seeking a Graphic Design and Client Relations Consultant.

You will balance strong visual design with a client-focused mindset, creating layouts, preparing print-ready files, and ensuring authors’ brand identity is reflected throughout the process. You will serve as the primary contact for authors, manage design projects, and build lasting relationships while meeting publishing requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Advertising, Multimedia Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field
• At least 2 years of professional graphic design experience; a strong portfolio is preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; knowledge of PageMaker is an advantage
• Solid understanding of typography, layout design, and print production requirements
• Knowledge of proofreading symbols and editorial markups
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for interactions with international clients
• Strong client-facing experience, including relationship management and stakeholder communication
• Willingness to work onsite at Cebu IT Park on a graveyard schedule; applicants from outside Cebu are welcome to apply

Responsibilities

• Create initial and revised book layouts using Adobe InDesign based on formatting requirements and technical specifications provided by authors
• Apply design best practices and resolve layout and formatting issues per established procedures
• Customize and modify template styles to meet authors' preferences and project requirements
• Generate print-ready PDF files that meet publishing and printer specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to author-submitted files, formatting, or software applications
• Extract and prepare RTF files for content evaluation and review
• Assess images submitted by authors to ensure they meet print production standards
• Update and revise legacy files to comply with current publishing and printing requirements
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned authors throughout the design and production process
• Understand authors' goals, expectations, and feedback to deliver high-quality results and ensure client satisfaction
• Build strong, long-term relationships through proactive communication and exceptional customer service
• Present design concepts, recommendations, and project updates professionally and confidently

• At least 2 years of professional graphic design experience; a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work is highly preferred
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of PageMaker is an advantage
• A solid understanding of typography, layout design, and print production requirements
• Knowledge of proofreading symbols and editorial markups
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the confidence to interact and present directly to international clients
• Strong client-facing experience, including relationship management, presentations, and stakeholder communication
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
