Job summary

Spml Infra is seeking a Deputy Manager for BESS Integration to lead the design, integration and commissioning of containerized energy storage systems.

You will coordinate with BMS/PCS, SCADA and grid interfaces, develop SLDs and network layouts, and oversee FAT, on-site testing and grid compliance to meet utility standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–10+ years in power systems or energy storage.
• Experience with site testing and commissioning.
• Knowledge of Battery technology (LFP), inverters and SCADA.
• Proficiency with ETAP and PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Implement containerized BESS architecture and BMS/PCS integration.
• Prepare SLDs, control schematics, and network layouts (Modbus, Ethernet).
• Lead on-site testing, FAT, and grid compliance testing.
• Coordinate with suppliers and EPC teams for BMS-PCS integration.
• Ensure safety standards (UL 9540, NFPA 855) and IEEE 1547 grid codes.

Job Description for BESS Integration (Deputy. Manager)

Key Responsibilities

• Implement containerized BESS system architecture, Electrical CAN Integration of Battery level BMS, HV Box- Rack level BMS module with BESS level BMS.
• Integration of FDSS, HVAC Chiller system with BESS level BMS module.
• Integration of Energy management system (EMS) SCADA with BESS level BMS module, PCS, Transformers and switchgears.

Engineering Design

Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Control schematics, and Communication network layouts (Modbus, Ethernet).

Commissioning Testing

Lead on-site installation, BESS site testing (SAT), First Time Charging Performance guarantee test and grid compliance, including functional testing and performance validation.

Technical Coordination

Work with suppliers and EPC teams to ensure seamless interaction between Battery management systems (BMS) and PCS.

Grid Compliance

Ensure adherence to safety standards (e.g., UL 9540, NFPA 855) and Grid codes (e.g., IEEE 1547).

Required Skills Qualifications

Education

Bachelor?s/Master?s in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience

3?10+ years in power systems, renewable energy, or Energy storage, with experience in site testing and commissioning.

Technical Expertise

Knowledge of Battery technology (LFP), Inverter controls, and SCADA systems.

Software

Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD).

Core Performance Indicators

• FAT qualification of BESS at our Factory.
• Successful commissioning of Utility-scale BESS project at our customer sites.
• Ensuring high Round Trip Efficiency (RTE) and system reliability.
• Optimizing Energy storage to meet grid requirements.
