Responsibilities

• Preventive Care: Prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to remove plaque, calculus, and stains.
• Patient Assessment: Perform preliminary examinations and periodontal charting, screen for oral cancer, assess oral hygiene.
• Patient Education: Instruct on brushing/flossing and lifestyle/diet for oral wellness.
• Topical Treatments: Apply fluoride and dental sealants as directed by the supervising dentist.
• Radiography: Take, process, and evaluate dental radiographs per radiation protection standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintain patient health records and treatment notes.
• Collaboration: Assist the supervising dentist and work with the clinical team to ensure patient care.
• Infection Control: Adhere to DOH and PRC infection control and sterilization procedures.
• Compliance: Follow PRC guidelines and Philippine health regulations governing dental hygiene practice

Core Responsibilities

• Preventive Care: Perform professional prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing to effectively remove plaque, calculus, and stains.
• Patient Assessment: Conduct preliminary oral examinations, perform comprehensive periodontal charting, screen for oral cancer, and assess the patient's overall oral hygiene condition.
• Patient Education: Provide individualized oral hygiene instructions, including proper brushing and flossing techniques, and guidance on lifestyle and dietary habits to promote oral wellness.
• Topical Treatments: Apply topical fluoride and dental sealants as directed and prescribed by the supervising dentist.
• Radiography: Safely take, process, and evaluate diagnostic dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with radiation protection standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintain thorough, accurate, and detailed patient health records, treatment notes, and charting.
• Collaboration: Assist the supervising Dentist during examinations and work closely with the entire clinical team to ensure seamless and comprehensive patient care.
• Infection Control: Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, instrument sterilization procedures, and proper maintenance of hygiene equipment, complying with all Department of Health (DOH) and PRC standards.
• Compliance: Adhere to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) guidelines and all Philippine health regulations governing dental hygiene practice

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Graduate of a recognized Dental Hygiene program.
• License: Must possess a valid and current Professional
• Regulation Commission (PRC) License to practice Dental Hygiene in the Philippines.
• Skills: Excellent manual dexterity, precision, and proficiency in using dental hygiene instruments and equipment (e.g., manual, ultrasonic scalers, aquacare).
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills in both English and Filipino, with a demonstrated ability to build patient rapport and provide clear educational instruction.
• Ethics: High level of professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to ethical practice and patient-centered care.
• Experience: Previous clinical experience in a dental clinic setting is an advantage, but applications from motivated, well-qualified fresh graduates are welcome.
