This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills to translate complex data.
Report Generation & Data Management
- Develop, produce, and distribute scheduled and ad hoc reports in alignment with stakeholder requirements and defined service level agreements (SLAs).
- Gather, consolidate, and validate data from multiple sources — including databases, data warehouses, CRM/ERP systems, and flat files — to ensure report integrity.
- Maintain a centralized report inventory, including documentation of report purpose, data sources, refresh frequency, and distribution lists.
- Perform data cleansing and validation routines to uphold data accuracy and completeness before any report is published or distributed.
- Monitor report pipelines and data feeds, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies, missing data, or failures in data refresh cycles.
Analytical Thinking & Insight Generation
- Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets to derive meaningful insights that drive actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Apply critical thinking to contextualize data findings within broader business objectives, identifying root causes and contributing factors.
- Proactively surface emerging data patterns that may indicate risks, opportunities, or shifts in key performance metrics.
- Translate raw analytical findings into concise, narrative-driven summaries that are accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Foresight & Anticipatory Inquiry Management
- Anticipate follow-on questions and secondary inquiries that stakeholders are likely to raise based on the data presented and proactively prepare supporting analysis.
- Develop exploratory analyses to address potential "what if" scenarios and branching lines of inquiry related to the data being managed.
- Maintain a log of recurring stakeholder questions and continuously incorporate relevant supplemental views into standard reporting packages.
- Collaborate with business units to understand their evolving data needs and align reporting deliverables to future analytical requirements.
- Flag and elevate data signals that may require strategic attention, even when not explicitly requested, demonstrating proactive analytical stewardship.
Timeliness, Accuracy & Quality Assurance
- Deliver all standard reports within established deadlines and communicate proactively when timeline constraints arise.
- Implement and follow rigorous quality assurance (QA) protocols — including peer reviews, data reconciliation checks, and version controls — before finalizing any report output.
- Maintain report accuracy by regularly auditing data sources and underlying logic, updating formulas, queries, or calculations as business rules evolve.
- Establish and document SLA commitments for each recurring report, tracking adherence and reporting on on-time delivery rates.
- Apply standardized naming conventions, file management practices, and archiving protocols to ensure continuity and accessibility of historical reports.
