Job summary

Medicare Plus, Inc. is seeking a System Security Engineer to design and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. You will monitor systems for threats, update information security policies, and educate staff on best practices to protect sensitive data.

The role emphasizes developing security standards, testing firewalls, and configuring security devices. Strong knowledge of security protocols and TCP/IP is essential, with 1–3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in CS/IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field.
• 1–3 years of work experience as a System Security Engineer or related role.
• Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security.
• Deep knowledge of security protocols and principles.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with HTTP/HTTPS and underlying implementations.
• Knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDNs).

• Plan, develop, implement and update company’s information security strategy
• Educate and train staff on best practices for information system security
• Develop best practices and security standards for the organization
• Test company software, firmware and firewalls
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
