Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Data Software Engineer to design, develop, and support data-driven software powering liquid credit investment workflows. You will collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, and operations to deliver scalable systems and reliable data across trade processing and reporting.

The role emphasizes strong SQL, SSRS reporting, and stored procedures, with a need for solid software engineering fundamentals and clear communication in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering with focus on data or backend development.
• Hands-on SQL expertise including query optimization, stored procedures, and data modeling.
• Experience designing and enhancing reporting with SSRS and SQL-based models.
• Advanced skill in building complex stored procedures and queries for demanding needs.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, OOP, and system design.
• Excellent communication, able to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Solid English at B2 level or higher, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support software solutions powering liquid credit investment workflows.
• Integrate data across systems used in credit investing to ensure consistency and reliable information exchange.
• Apply SQL Server knowledge to build and maintain database-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements and deliverables.
• Tune database performance and maintain data accuracy across systems.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and help define engineering best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents promptly to minimize disruption.
• Deliver clean, scalable, well-documented code for long-term maintenance.
