HCM Nexus is seeking a Data Scientist to develop AI/ML solutions targeting Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and automated data extraction. You will work with structured and unstructured data to improve business processes and decision-making, collaborating with business stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists.
You will label and validate datasets, apply NLP, OCR, and Generative AI, and build evaluation and monitoring frameworks to track model performance.

About the role
We are looking for a Data Scientist to support the development of data-driven solutions, with a focus on AI/ML, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and automated data extraction. The role involves working with structured and unstructured data to develop solutions that improve business processes and decision-making. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists to transform business requirements into practical data and AI solutions.
Key responsibilities
Develop automated document extraction and data enrichment solutions using AI/ML technologies.
Manipulate and analyze data using Python and SQL Server to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights.
Label and validate datasets for machine learning and document processing.
Support the use of NLP, OCR, and Generative AI to extract information from unstructured and semi-structured documents.
Develop evaluation frameworks using metrics such as precision, recall, F1 score, and accuracy.
Build monitoring solutions to continuously evaluate the performance of implemented models and processes.
Collaborate with experienced data scientists and modelers to develop predictive models and analytical solutions.
Apply machine learning techniques such as decision trees and clustering.
Create and maintain technical documentation for data and AI processes.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Experience working with datasets and extracting meaningful insights from data.
Experience or exposure to data science, software development, data engineering, or analytics.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git.
Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Preferred: Experience with OCR, NLP, image analytics, or Generative AI.
Preferred: Experience developing evaluation frameworks and conducting experimental analysis.
