Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology in Cebu seeks a Data Protection Engineer to safeguard sensitive data and support compliance initiatives. You will work hands-on with Microsoft Purview to detect risks, investigate alerts, and strengthen data security across the enterprise.

The role focuses on monitoring, policy tuning, and analysis of data handling to reduce risk, with responsibilities spanning DLP, labeling, classification, and collaboration with IT, Security, Legal, and HR.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional experience in information security, focused on data loss prevention and data protection.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Security, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Strong understanding of data protection, information governance, privacy, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining DLP and data protection policies, controls, and procedures across enterprise environments.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP/E, CIPM, Security+, or Microsoft security certifications are desirable.

The Data Protection Analyst will work hands‑on with Microsoft Purview technologies to detect risks, investigate alerts, and strengthen data security across the enterprise.

Position Overview

The Data Protection Analyst is responsible for supporting the operation and optimization of the organization’s data protection controls using Microsoft Purview. This role focuses on monitoring, alert triage, policy tuning, and analysis of sensitive data handling to reduce risk and improve compliance posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and use Microsoft Purview solutions including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Sensitivity labeling
• Monitor alerts and investigate potential data loss or misuse activities.
• Escalate high-risk incidents and support response efforts.
• Analyze user activity and data movement to identify potential risks.

Education and Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional experience in information security primarily in data loss prevention and data protection. Experience in privacy, compliance, or related cybersecurity pillars is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Security, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection, sensitivity labels, data classification, and related security controls; experience with similar DLP platforms is also desirable.
• Strong understanding of data protection, information governance, privacy, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining DLP and data protection policies, controls, and procedures across enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with relevant data protection and cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations, with the ability to translate requirements into practical security controls.
• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP/E, CIPM, Security+, or Microsoft security certifications are desirable.
