Job summary

ULTRA CLEAN TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Design Engineer I, Mechanical in Cebu to join the Design Engineering Team. You will apply foundational engineering knowledge to perform risk analysis of electromechanical systems, create design models, publish documentation, and support quoting through prototyping.

Your role includes evaluating customer component selection for quality and lead time, identifying build-to-print challenges, and assisting sales with project risk communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 0-2+ years design/engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software: Pro Engineer, AutoCAD, Solidworks.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to determine feasibility of design or application.
• Design gas and/or liquid delivery systems, test equipment, and mechatronics using CAD.
• Coordinate with account managers and operations to meet customer specs.
• Translate designs for factory by communicating material needs to provide risk assessment.
• Coordinate fabrication and installation to conform to design and specs.
• Review designs in design review meetings with internal staff.
• Investigate alternative material feasibility for projects.
• Participate in customer presentations with sales/operations.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a team-centric and collaborative Design Engineer I focused on Mechanical Engineering to join our Design Engineering Team. In this role, you will apply foundational engineering knowledge to provide comprehensive risk analysis of electromechanical systems. You will be responsible for creating design models, publishing technical documentation, and supporting project workflows from quoting through prototyping.

Key job requirements include investigating customer component selection for quality or lead time risk. Identify challenges and alternate solutions for build-to-print and off-the-shelf components. Plan Responsible for supporting sales and quoting organization to obtain communicate project and product risk. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems. May supervise or coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

Designs gas and/or liquid delivery systems, test equipment, and mechatronics using CAD software

Works with account managers and operations staff to complete design requirements to customers’ specifications

Works with quoting specialists to comprehend and interpret customer designs, translating the material needs to the factory to provide basic risk assessment of project completion.

Coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications

Designs products and systems to interface machines, hardware and software

Conducts design review meetings with internal staff

Investigates feasibility for applicability of alternative material sources

May participate in customer presentations with sales/operations staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database software

Educational/Certification Requirement:

• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

• 0-2+ years design and / or Engineering experience
• Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment preferred.
