Job summary

Atlas Capture Services, Inc. in Manila is seeking a Data Privacy Officer to ensure compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and NPC regulations, safeguarding the personal data of our employees, contributors, and partners.

The role leads our data protection efforts, guides teams on handling personal data, and serves as the main contact for privacy concerns with internal teams and NPC. This in-person position offers collaboration with cross-functional teams and opportunities to shape data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law or related field is required.
• 1–3 years in data privacy, compliance, legal, IT security, or related role (BPO experience a plus).
• Solid understanding of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and NPC regulations; GDPR knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in risk management, audits, or policy development is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain privacy requirements clearly to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with the Data Privacy Act, Implementing Rules, and NPC issuances.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures across the organization.
• Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, systems, or processes involving personal data.
• Handle data subject requests, such as access, correction, deletion, or objection to data processing.
• Lead the response process in case of data breach, including investigation, containment, and reporting to the NPC when required.
• Serve as the primary contact person for data subjects, the NPC, and other authorities regarding data privacy matters.
• Conduct regular data privacy training and awareness sessions for employees.
• Review contracts and agreements with vendors/third parties to ensure data protection standards.
• Perform periodic audits and recommend improvements to strengthen privacy compliance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

The Role

The Data Privacy Officer is responsible for making sure Atlas Capture Services Inc. stays compliant with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and other related regulations set by the National Privacy Commission (NPC). This person will lead the company's data protection efforts, guide teams on proper handling of personal data, and act as the main point of contact for privacy-related concerns — both internally and with the NPC.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the company's compliance with the Data Privacy Act, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and related NPC issuances

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in law, Information Technology, Business Administration, or any related field

• At least 1–3 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, legal, IT security, or a related role (BPO experience is a plus)

• Solid understanding of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and NPC regulations; familiarity with GDPR is an advantage

• Experience in risk management, audits, or policy development is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain privacy requirements clearly to non-technical staff

• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information

• Detail-oriented and highly organized

• Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) certification is preferred but not required

• Registration with the NPC is an advantage
