EviSmart is seeking a Data Engineer to own the company’s data platform from source systems to a single trusted warehouse. You will build and maintain automated pipelines, ensure data quality, and enable self-serve analytics for multiple teams across the org.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product, sales, and finance, and involves mentoring two data engineers while working with AI tools on clean, real-time data.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering with ownership of a production data warehouse or platform end-to-end.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with modern data pipeline and ETL/ELT tools.
• Experience with layered warehouse architecture (medallion: bronze/silver/gold).
• Hands-on with Databricks and Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL).
• Comfort integrating data from in-house systems and third-party platforms (CRM, finance, PM tools).
• Experience exposing data via APIs or working with teams that consume data through APIs.
• Some experience or interest in ML/AI data needs; understand clean, structured data requirements.
• People management experience or readiness to manage a small team.
• Clear communicator; comfortable liaising with non-technical teams to understand needs.

Responsibilities

• Build and run reliable, automated data pipelines from multiple systems into a central warehouse.
• Maintain a single, trusted customer and business record so teams see consistent numbers.
• Own data quality by monitoring and fixing issues before downstream users are affected.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver clean, structured data in near real-time for self-serve analysis.
• Review changes to data structures to prevent downstream breaks in warehouse or reports.
• Structure and document data so teams and AI tools can query it directly without custom reports.
• Manage and grow a small data team and support a data analyst in delivering insights for leadership.
