Role Overview
We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Data Operations Engineer to join the Data Operations team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing and optimising data transfers, maintaining file transfer systems, and ensuring the reliability of data feeds across our platforms. You'll work with a variety of tools and technologies to support seamless data operations and analytics infrastructure. Who you are?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data management, including ETL processes and database administration.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS data services and AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, RDS, IAM policies, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Oracle, and Postgres.
- Proficient in building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab (preferred), Jenkins, and CircleCI.
- Familiarity with data analytics infrastructure and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

What will you do?
- Oversee and manage data transfers across multiple systems and platforms.
- Maintain and optimise file transfer systems and data feeds.
- Administer and support data tools such as Power BI, DBT Cloud, Hightouch
- Operate and maintain analytics infrastructure including Control-M, Sagemaker, and Apache Airflow.
- Ensure data pipelines and ETL processes are efficient, secure, and reliable. Action "General Service Requests" received on daily basis that includes access provisioning, data quality issues, minor enhancements within agreed timeframes.
- Conduct maintenance activities that includes vulnerability management, patch upgrades, version upgrades and security maintenance on a regular cadence.
- Participate in on-call roster for the Data Operations team.
Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and optimise data transfer processes for performance and reliability.
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance data operations.
- Regularly review and improve ETL processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct performance tuning of databases and data platforms.
- Stay current with advancements in data analytics infrastructure.

- Stay Current: Continuously develop your expertise by keeping up with emerging data technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Documentation: Contribute to and maintain clear, accessible documentation for data operations, runbooks, and engineering standards.
