Job summary

Globe Telecommunication is seeking a Data Governance Manager to define data policies and oversee governance across the business unit, ensuring data quality, privacy compliance, and cross‑functional collaboration with the Analytics Team to deliver accurate models and insights.

The role leads data issue resolution and contributes to system implementations, enhancements, and migrations managed by the business unit, driving KPI tracking and governance improvements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in SQL and data analysis.
• 3 years of experience in Master Data, Data Quality, or Data Integration.
• 3 years of experience implementing or managing enterprise‑scale data warehouse or data management projects.
• 5 years of experience working with data management teams.
• 3 years of enterprise‑scale data warehouse experience.
• Strong understanding of data tools and data quality policies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish data governance policies covering the data lifecycle for stakeholders.
• Establish procedures for data security and privacy compliance, including storage, access, sharing, and usage.
• Define, track and manage data quality KPIs and consolidate across the enterprise.
• Implement controls and compliance metrics to reduce data issues and improve data quality.
• Develop evaluation methods, data profiling, and establish data lineages for internal customers.
• Design processes and training; lead initiatives to align data owners with policies.

Job description

The Data Governance Manager is accountable for defining data policies that govern data management procedures for the specific business unit’s data elements and requirements. They proactively ensure data quality, privacy compliance, and collaborate cross‑functionally to enable the Analytics Team to deliver relevant and accurate models and insights. They lead data issue resolution, and are involved in systems and applications implementation, enhancement, and migration owned by their business unit.

Process

• Establish data governance policies that cover the data lifecycle of their business unit stakeholders.
• Establish procedures for data security and privacy regulation compliance, including storage, access, sharing, and usage.
• Define, track and manage data quality KPIs and consolidate across the enterprise.
• Implement controls and compliance metrics to reduce data issues and improve data quality.
• Develop evaluation methods, data profiling, and establish data lineages to provide internal customers with feedback and recommendations.
• Design processes and training; lead initiatives to ensure alignment of different data owners to data policies.

Business

• Report and escalation to the Data Governance Council on data quality issues and improvements with recommendations.
• Collaborate with reporting and operational segments to ensure data quality standards are met and root causes identified.
• Identify, prioritize, and lead enterprise‑wide data governance initiatives to improve data quality, availability, and usability.
• Plan, manage, monitor, and communicate data policies and KPIs to stakeholders.
• Align data governance with strategic objectives and prioritize critical measures with defined SLAs for issue resolution.

People

• Manage and drive teams to resolve data quality issues.
• Manage project risks and stakeholder expectations, ensuring benefits realization.
• Mentor team members and provide training.

Requirements

Must Have

• 3‑5 years of experience in SQL and data analysis.
• 3 years of experience in Master Data, Data Quality, or Data Integration.
• 3 years of experience implementing or managing enterprise‑scale data warehouse or data management projects.
• 5 years of experience working with data management teams.
• 3 years of enterprise‑scale data warehouse experience.
• Ability to understand key drivers, dependencies, and risks.
• Strong understanding of data tools (cleansing, master data management, metadata, etc.) and data quality policies.
• Meticulous attention to detail with passion for discipline.
• Ability to understand and assess potential risk.
• Deep understanding of data governance, data management principles/processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Nice to Have

• 3 years managing people or leading project teams.
• 3 years of experience implementing or managing enterprise‑scale data warehouse or data management projects.
• Certification in relevant database and business intelligence.
• Understanding of billing and provisioning applications.
