Job summary

Union Bank of the Philippines is seeking a Data Engineer Team Lead to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring high data availability and quality for analytics, reporting, operations, and strategic decision-making.

You will collaborate with Data Product Managers and the Data Architect, review code, mentor junior engineers, and lead continuous improvement of ETL/ELT processes using Airflow, DBT, and modern data warehousing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 3+ years in data engineering or related role.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and pipeline frameworks (Airflow, DBT).
• Knowledge of modern data warehousing (Snowflake/Redshift).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from multiple sources.
• Optimize and maintain data infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Model data products that are reusable and aligned with business needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation on data architecture, metadata, and processing workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers, review code, and enforce best practices.
