Job summary

China Bank PH is seeking a Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines and platforms that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.

You will implement ETL processes, maintain data quality, and automate data processing using Python, Shell, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data warehousing and data modeling concepts.
• Proficiency in Python, Shell, or other scripting languages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as Microsoft data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric, is an advantage.
• Banking industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data.
• Build and support scalable data platforms, including data warehouses, lakehouses, and data lakes.
• Implement data quality controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
• Automate data processing and integration tasks using Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Maintain clear documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows.
• Keep up with emerging tools and technologies in data engineering.
