Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Mechanical HVAC Engineer to design and coordinate HVAC systems for electronics facilities and mission-critical Data Center projects.

The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with international standards while delivering efficient, sustainable designs. You will develop 2D/3D drawings, review submittals, and prepare performance-based specifications for equipment such as AHUs, pumps, fans, and chillers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PRC professional license required.
• Significant experience delivering electronics and Data Centre HVAC projects, including cleanroom design concepts.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, AP3D, AutoCAD; familiarity with heat load and pressure loss calculation tools is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. and international building codes and related standards; Australian standards familiarity is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for electronics facilities and Data center projects, including process exhausts, cooling, and heating water systems.
• Prepare and review 2D drawings and 3D models, QA/QC compliant and accurate.
• Develop performance-based specifications for mechanical equipment (AHUs, pumps, fans, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, scrubbers, VOC abatement units).
• Review contractor submittals to ensure alignment with design intent and specifications.
• Participate in client meetings and address design review comments promptly.
• Propose innovative design solutions and manage design change control processes effectively.
