Role Summary
The Data Architect & Metadata Lead is responsible for defining and governing enterprise data and metadata architecture across source systems, the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), MDM, and API ecosystems. The role ensures consistent data models, lineage, integration standards, and metadata management practices to support trusted, governed, and reusable data assets.
Your Role
- Own domain data architecture and metadata architecture.
- Assess source systems and determine System of Record (SOR) strategies.
- Define and maintain metadata models, data lineage, canonical data models, and ERDs.
- Develop source-to-target mappings and integration approaches across EDP, MDM, and APIs.
- Establish metadata management standards, processes, and governance practices.
- Drive adoption and optimization of metadata/catalog tools such as Purview, Collibra, or Informatica EDC/CDGC.
- Collaborate with business, architecture, data governance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Your Profile
- Proven experience in Enterprise Data Architecture or Information Architecture.
- Strong knowledge of Metadata management and data lineage, canonical and logical data modelling, ERDs and source-to-target mapping, System of Record (SOR) assessment, and data governance and integration architecture.
- Experience with Azure Databricks/Enterprise Data Platforms (EDP), MDM, and API ecosystems.
- Working knowledge of metadata and data catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica EDC, or Informatica CDGC.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data architecture solutions.
- Strong governance, documentation, and data quality focus.
- Ability to work directly with business, Data Governance, EDP, MDM, API and architecture teams.
