Job summary

Rex Education is seeking a data analyst to collaborate with the business intelligence and data operations teams. You will transform data from multiple sources into actionable insights and visualizations to support decision-making.

Fresh graduates or professionals with up to 1 year of experience are welcome. Proficiency in data modelling, SQL, Power BI, and BI tools is desirable, with knowledge of ETL/ELT and scripting languages considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Education as stated: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate or 1 year of experience as a data analyst; knowledge of analytical tools is a plus.
• Experience with data modelling and RDBMS, SQL for reporting packages; data management tools are a plus.
• Experience with ETL/ELT for data preparation and scripting languages; ETL/ELT tools are a plus.
• Experience in data processing, data reporting, and working with databases and dashboards.
• Familiarity with BI tools and statistical analytics to support business insights.
• Nice to have skills in Office365, Power BI, SQL, PHP, JS, Python, R and Hadoop.

JOB SPECIFICATION

The position is primarily responsible for the following:

Working with the business intelligence or data operations team. Contributing to team projects and understanding business problems by formulating solutions from business requirements while working with data. Responsible for data preparation or data cleaning that will transform complex analysis or data exploration from different data sources to come up with a data driven insights with data visualization to the business.

1. Analyze and prepare data from one or many data sources.
2. Cleans the data by handling data patterns, missing data and inconsistent data.
3. Analyses the complex data relationships by understanding business processes.
4. Basic to advance statistical knowledge as solution to business problems.
5. Creatively designs data visualizations, dashboards and/or reports as business insights.
6. Strongly communicates with the team and contributes insights to projects.
7. Resilient problem-solving skills working with data and projects.

QUALIFICATION

Education: Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent disciplines.

Experience(s): Fresh graduate or 1 year of experience as a data analyst. Knowledge using analytical tools is a plus.

Specific Knowledge:

• • Skills in data modelling and RDBMS. Design and create data models and using SQL language/s to create reporting packages. Use of data modelling and data management tool/s is a plus.
• • Skills in creating ETL/ELT as data preparation or data cleaning. Creating batch processes and creating scripting language/s. Use of data integration/ETL/ELT tool is a plus.
• • Knowledge in managing data processing and data reporting. Working in database server/s is a plus.
• • Knowledge in developing dashboards and reports. Using business intelligence tool/s is a plus.
• • Practices statistical algorithms or analytics. Specifically unsupervised learning or machine learning. Using statistical tools is a plus.
• • Nice to have skills in Office365, Power BI, SQL, PHP, JS, Power BI, Python, R and Hadoop.
