Role Summary
As a Senior Business Analyst within the ESG Tribe at ING, you will transform complex data into trusted insights that support reporting, risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision‑making across the bank. You will work with stakeholders, data teams, and cross‑functional partners to define requirements, improve data quality, enable regulatory reporting, and drive data management excellence.
About the Team
The ESG Tribe provides harmonised, trusted, and consistent data that supports reporting, analysis, accounting, and risk management throughout ING. Collaborating with domains, countries, Risk Tribes, and Data Management teams, we establish a reliable source of truth and improve end‑to‑end data flows across the organisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead data management and data quality initiatives across multiple domains.
- Gather, refine, and prioritise business and data requirements with stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain business terms, data models, mappings, and related documentation.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, testing, and UAT activities.
- Coordinate across countries, domains, and squads to deliver data solutions and services.
- Support ESG, Risk, Finance, and regulatory reporting initiatives, including BCBS239‑related activities.
- Monitor delivery progress and proactively manage dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of standards, governance, and ways of working.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within banking or financial services.
- Strong data management, data quality, and data modelling expertise.
- Hands‑on SQL and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with large datasets and data onboarding processes.
- Knowledge of Finance, Credit Risk, Market Risk, or Regulatory Reporting.
- Experience with Agile delivery, testing, UAT, and change implementation.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
- Self‑propelled, proactive mindset with the ability to own responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with FINREP or other regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Retail banking product knowledge.
- Experience building roadmaps and supporting product strategy.
- Exposure to ESG or sustainability‑related data initiatives.
