Job summary

Chevron Philippines Incorporated in Makati City, Philippines, is seeking a Credit Analyst to manage a portfolio of customer accounts and assess counterparty creditworthiness.

You will monitor credit limits, prepare assessments, apply risk mitigation, and advise on letters of credit while supporting credit policy adherence and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree major in Accountancy, Management Accounting, Accounting Technology and related courses.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP system.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Good analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative analysis) and strong accounting background highly preferred.
  • Ability to work systematically, prioritize tasks and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to balance risks and business requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to varying work situations and is flexible in the approach to resolving challenges.
  • Works with minimal supervision and shows Initiative.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of management.
  • Experience in data reporting, business intelligence, or corporate data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Handles a portfolio of customer accounts with key activities as follows
  • Monitors and reviews credit limits of new and existing counterparties; involving in-depth analysis of counterparty’s financial standing, industry review, business outlook, risks and opportunities
  • Prepares credit assessment and administer the approval process for credit limits and terms
  • Applies credit risk mitigation strategy including obtaining acceptable forms of securities from counterparty
  • Updates and maintain the credit limits and data in system
  • Provides advisory function on documentary credit, bank guarantees and standby letter of credit
  • Provides advisory function on credit issues in the contract and credit structures such as collateral and mitigation strategy and trade finance tools
  • Monitors credit key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Payment Performance; Collection Efficiency Index (CEI); Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), etc
  • Reviews, assesses and administers approval process for orders blocked due to credit violations
  • Contributes towards developing and implementing credit risk management processes
  • Active participation on improving credit risk management policies to meet industry best practices
  • Actively implement & comply with the Credit Policy
  • Ensure the trading and marketing business activities of S&T and Downstream business is conducted according to the Credit Policy
  • Identifies, measures and control credit risk mitigation activities in S&T and Downstream business
  • Active participation in the development of information systems to accurately capture credit exposures
  • Prepares credit management reports
  • Maintains and develops relationships with relevant stakeholders

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Analyst. This role will be based in 6750 Building, Makati City, Philippines.

Responsibilities
  • Handles a portfolio of customer accounts with key activities as follows
  • Monitors and reviews credit limits of new and existing counterparties; involving in-depth analysis of counterparty’s financial standing, industry review, business outlook, risks and opportunities
  • Prepares credit assessment and administer the approval process for credit limits and terms
  • Applies credit risk mitigation strategy including obtaining acceptable forms of securities from counterparty
  • Updates and maintain the credit limits and data in system
  • Provides advisory function on documentary credit, bank guarantees and standby letter of credit

Collateral Management
  • Knowledge and appreciation of ICC UCP600 & ICC ISP98 Handles Letter of Credits i.e. Documentary Letter of Credit (DLC) & Stand by Letter of Credit (SBLC) review & negotiation with S&T counterparties
  • Coordinates with Banks, S&T Operations, Traders and Legal team for issuance of acceptable LC formats from Chevron bank list
  • Provides timely clearance and issuance of Credit Security Notification (CSN) for trading deals fully secured by LCs
  • Identified as Letters of Credit (LC) - SME, and provides support and guidance as necessary, on review of DLC & SBLC terms & conditions
  • Provides support in management of fully secured deals in Brady Credit Risk (BCR)
  • Reviews and processes all LC related bank charges and confirmation fees
  • Collateral Drawings: Closely monitor due dates of all active trading deals fully secured by acceptable LCs. Prepares all necessary documents to facilitate timely & full collection of all deals covered by letter of credit
