Role Summary
The Production Manager – JAMS will be responsible for managing the planning, tracking, coordination, and delivery discipline of AI-native content productions within the JioStar AI Media Studio (JAMS). This role sits at the intersection of creative production, VFX/animation/post-production management, workflow systems, vendor coordination, and AI-led production execution. The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing complex creative production environments across VFX, animation, post-production, digital content, or emerging AI-native workflows. You will help JAMS teams move from concept to production-ready output by building clear schedules, tracking systems, reporting mechanisms, vendor workflows, review processes, and delivery frameworks across active PODs and projects.
Key Responsibilities AI-Native Production Management
- Manage day-to-day production planning and execution across JAMS projects, PODs, creative teams, technical teams, and external partners.
- Translate creative ambition, scripts, treatments, visual references, and technical requirements into executable production plans.
- Coordinate across Creative Technologists, Producers, Narrative and Visual Storytelling Leads, Writers, Editors, VFX/Post teams, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and vendor teams.
- Maintain visibility on project scope, milestones, dependencies, review cycles, vendor readiness, resource needs, and delivery timelines.
- Help teams move from experimentation and prototypes into structured production execution without losing speed or creative flexibility.
Production Planning, Scheduling and Tracking
- Build and maintain production schedules, milestone plans, shot/asset trackers, delivery trackers, review calendars, and status reports.
- Track project progress across concepts, scripts, storyboards, animatics, previs, AI generation, VFX/post, edit, sound, QC, and final delivery stages.
- Monitor scope, bid assumptions, schedule health, team capacity, vendor capacity, resource utilization, and delivery risks.
- Organize dailies, reviews, stand-ups, planning meetings, retrospectives, and follow-up actions.
- Surface blockers early and drive clear follow-through on decisions, priorities, and next steps.
Production Workflow Systems and Reporting
- Own and maintain production workflow systems for JAMS projects, including show trackers, shot/asset trackers, milestone dashboards, review trackers, vendor trackers, and delivery reports.
- Configure and operate production management tools such as ShotGrid/Shotgun, Ftrack, Airtable, Notion, Jira, Monday, Excel/Sheets, or equivalent systems based on production needs.
- Translate creative and technical production workflows into clear tracking structures, statuses, handoffs, owners, timelines, and reporting views.
- Use production data to surface risks, bottlenecks, vendor capacity issues, bid-vs-actual movement, schedule drift, and delivery health.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to improve internal JAMS production tools, dashboards, automations, and reporting workflows.
Vendor and Cross-Functional Coordination
- Support vendor onboarding, capability assessment, production briefing, schedule alignment, delivery tracking, and quality follow-through.
- Coordinate with external VFX, animation, sound, post-production, AI tooling, and creative vendors as required by each project.
- Maintain clear communication between internal creative/technical teams and external partners.
- Ensure vendors understand creative intent, technical methodology, asset requirements, review cadence, naming/versioning expectations, and delivery specifications.
- Help build strong production partnerships that improve quality, efficiency, and predictability across JAMS workflows.
Quality, Risk and Delivery Discipline
- Maintain a holistic view of project health across scope, schedules, resources, review cycles, production quality, and final delivery.
- Identify production risks early and elevate them with clear options, trade-offs, and recommended next steps.
- Support QC and delivery readiness across scripts, visual outputs, edits, VFX/post assets, sound, metadata, and final publishing requirements.
- Drive documentation of learnings, blockers, retrospectives, process improvements, and repeatable production practices.
- Ensure JAMS productions remain organized, accountable, and delivery-focused while operating in a fast-evolving AI-native environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in production management across VFX, animation, post-production, film, streaming, digital content, gaming, virtual production, or adjacent creative technology industries.
- Strong experience managing schedules, trackers, milestones, resources, review cycles, delivery plans, and cross-functional production dependencies.
- Strong experience managing production workflow systems, trackers, dashboards, schedules, review cycles, and reporting for VFX, animation, post-production, digital content, or AI-native production.
- Familiarity with production management tools such as ShotGrid/Shotgun, Ftrack, Airtable, Jira, Notion, Monday, Excel/Sheets, or equivalent systems.
- Experience coordinating with creative teams, production teams, post-production teams, VFX/animation teams, technology teams, and external vendors.
- Ability to translate creative and technical requirements into practical production plans, schedules, trackers, and reporting structures.
- Strong understanding of production stages such as scripting, storyboarding, animatics, previs, asset creation, AI generation, edit, VFX/post, sound, QC, and delivery.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, organization, documentation, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, evolving scope, changing priorities, and fast-moving production timelines.
- High ownership, learning agility, and comfort operating in an AI-native production environment.
Good to Have
- Experience working with VFX or animation vendors, bid tracking, bid-vs-actual reporting, vendor capacity planning, or shot/asset delivery workflows.
- Exposure to AI-assisted production tools, GenAI content workflows, virtual production, real-time workflows, or emerging media production technologies.
- Experience partnering with product or engineering teams to build or improve production tools, dashboards, automations, or workflow systems.
- Experience supporting multiple shows, films, series, promos, digital-first content, or short-form productions simultaneously.
- Familiarity with creative production pipelines across writing, visual development, CG/3D, compositing, sound, edit, and post-production.
