Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Creative Managers at SlideGenius are dedicated to fostering the growth of their direct reports and cultivating high-performing teams. They prioritize team leadership and training over hands‑on design work, reflecting their growing passion for sharing knowledge and fostering the growth of the design team. They bring invaluable expertise in design and client management to mentor and empower others using their extensive experience, playing a crucial role in the team's development and success. Creative Managers report to the Director of Creative Development, who relies on Creative Managers to oversee the design team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and train design team members to achieve department objectives.
- Brainstorm, suggest, critique, and demonstrate design and layout concepts that are in accordance with SlideGenius design standards and client expectations.
- Clearly communicate with client and internal feedback and edits.
- Adhere to and educate others on client and/or internal branding guidelines.
- Coordinate, enforce, and develop training programs, policies, and procedures.
- Keep abreast of industry trends for continuous improvement within the team.
- Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive team culture that fosters creativity and professional growth.
- Assess organizational needs/trends for training opportunities.
Performance Management
- Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and determine coaching needs.
- Conduct consistent and effective 1‑on‑1 meetings.
- Communicate job expectations and appraise job results.
- Coach, counsel, and provide feedback to employees.
- Develop and implement performance plans and update supporting documentation.
Administrative
- Contribute to meetings/events.
- Review potential design team applicants, conduct interviews, and provide feedback.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Ability to learn new creative software.
- Skilled at curating curriculum content based on subject matter expertise.
- Has a consistent track record of successful mentorships.
- Shows aptitude and desire to manage a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and decision‑making skills.
- Patient, positive team approach.
- Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and facilitative.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational ability and multitasking skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years as a successful Manager, Art Director, or equivalent role.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related to Graphic Design.
- 5+ years of graphic design experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience designing presentations in PowerPoint.
- Can work fully onsite.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to speak on the phone and/or in person.
