Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and revenue recognition. This role requires a thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience with distributor and retailer deductions. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading the monthly close process, managing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage all core accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Reconcile sales across multiple sales channels, including online (Amazon/DTC), distributors, and direct sales.
• Manage and dispute complex deductions from distributors like UNFI and Kehe, and retailers like Walmart and Target.
• Lead the monthly close process, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity with a focus on inventory accounting and reconciliations, in partnership with Operations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities in collaboration with leadership.
• Support external audit preparation and controllership activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes and reporting workflows.
• Support quarterly board meetings with financial insights and reports.

Requirements

• CPA required.
• 5+ years of hands‑on accounting experience within the CPG industry.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting, and cost accounting.
• Experience with CPG invoicing and deduction management, including direct experience with UNFI, Kehe, and other common distributors.
• Experience with seasonality, and the unique cash cycles of holiday manufacturing, is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead accounting operations in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Schedule

• Flexible working days and hours, with a minimum of 16 hours per week.
