Job summary

HRTx Inc. seeks a Cost Accounting Head (CPA) to lead and oversee the company’s cost accounting for a fast-growing restaurant and FMCG business.

This on-site role drives cost strategies, inventory valuation, and profitability reporting in collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, Production, and Finance leadership. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in cost accounting, 5+ years in leadership, CPA, and strong Excel/ERP (SAP) expertise, with experience across restaurant, FMCG, or manufacturing

Qualifications

• CPA is required and licensed.
• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership of a cost accounting function.
• At least 5 years of managerial or leadership experience in cost accounting or finance.
• Strong background in Cost Accounting within restaurant, FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or inventory-intensive industries.
• Proficiency in standard costing, product costing, BOM, inventory accounting, variance analysis, cost allocation, and profitability analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP or equivalent).

• Establish, review, and improve cost accounting policies, methodologies, and internal controls.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and results-driven Cost Accounting Head (CPA) to lead and oversee the company's overall cost accounting function for a fast-growing restaurant and FMCG business.

The role will be responsible for establishing and strengthening cost accounting strategies, overseeing product and production costing, inventory valuation, cost controls, variance analysis, and profitability reporting. The Cost Accounting Head will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, and Finance leadership to drive cost efficiency, improve margins, and support sound business decisions.

The ideal candidate has extensive leadership experience in Cost Accounting within the restaurant, food manufacturing, FMCG, retail, or manufacturing industry, with strong expertise in inventory accounting, standard costing, BOM, product costing, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and provide strategic direction for the company's cost accounting function across multiple business units, locations, and operations.
• Establish, review, and improve cost accounting policies, methodologies, and internal controls.
• Oversee standard costing, product costing, BOM structures, production costing, and cost allocation methodologies.
• Lead the analysis of restaurant, commissary, manufacturing, and product costs to identify opportunities to improve margins and operational efficiency.
• Oversee inventory accounting, inventory valuation, inventory movements, and monthly inventory reconciliation.
• Review and analyze cost variances, production variances, purchase price variances, and inventory variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and oversee cost and profitability reports to provide management with actionable insights on product, store, and business-unit performance.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Production, Commercial, and Finance teams to strengthen cost controls and optimize resource utilization.
• Lead the development of cost-related budgets, forecasts, financial models, and business plans.
• Provide financial and cost analysis to support new product development, pricing decisions, business expansion, and operational initiatives.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of cost accounting data and its alignment with financial reporting requirements and accounting standards.
• Strengthen processes and systems related to inventory, costing, reporting, and financial controls.
• Lead cost accounting transformation and process improvement initiatives, including ERP and automation projects.
• Monitor key cost and profitability metrics and present insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the cost accounting team while establishing a high-performance culture.
• Serve as the key subject matter expert and strategic partner to senior leadership on cost management, profitability, and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience leading a Cost Accounting function.
• At least 5 years of managerial or leadership experience, preferably managing a cost accounting or finance team.
• Strong background in Cost Accounting within Restaurant, FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Retail, Manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive industries.
• Strong expertise in standard costing, product costing, BOM, inventory accounting, variance analysis, cost allocation, and profitability analysis.
• Experience overseeing costing and inventory processes across multiple business units, branches, stores, plants, or facilities is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of production, commissary, supply chain, procurement, and operational cost structures.
• Proven experience in cost optimization, process improvement, and financial controls.
• Strong financial analysis and modeling skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with SAP or other major ERP platforms is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
• Strong ability to collaborate with senior management and cross-functional business leaders.
• Willing to work on-site in Mandaluyong City, Monday to Friday.
