Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Consultant in Regulatory Risk and Oversight based in Manila, Philippines. You will project-manage regulatory change events, coordinate stakeholders across legal entities, and maintain delivery plans, evidence, and governance documentation.

You will support risk management specialists, track progress, prepare management information, and contribute to continuous improvement of regulatory processes and controls within APAC operations.

Qualifications

With more than 135 years of financial experience and over 24,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service. **Major Duties*** Project manage assigned regulatory change events under the direction and with the support of a Regulatory Risk Management Specialist, coordinating activities across the applicable stages of the regulatory change lifecycle.* Develop and maintain delivery plans for assigned regulatory change events, including activities, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, actions and stakeholder responsibilities.* Coordinate the engagement of subject matter experts and impacted business, functional and legal-entity stakeholders to support the completion of regulatory applicability, interpretation, scoping, impact and gap assessments.* Support Regulatory Risk Management Specialists in facilitating discussions to assess the impact of regulatory developments on APAC legal entities, business units, products, services, processes and operations.* Coordinate the documentation of implementation requirements, accountable owners, target completion dates, dependencies and required evidence arising from regulatory impact and gap assessments.* Monitor the progress of regulatory change events and associated implementation or remediation activities, follow up on outstanding actions and escalate delays, risks, issues or unresolved dependencies to the supporting Regulatory Risk Management Specialist.* Coordinate regulatory change governance activities, including preparing meeting materials, maintaining agendas and action logs, documenting decisions and supporting the presentation of regulatory change events at relevant working groups and governance forums.* Maintain complete, accurate and current regulatory change records, including applicability rationales, assessments, traceability matrices, delivery documentation, supporting evidence, status updates and governance decisions.* Administer regulatory change events within applicable workflow and recordkeeping systems, supporting data quality, consistent reporting and the maintenance of an effective audit trail.* Coordinate with Regulatory Oversight teams, subject matter experts, Regulatory Delivery stakeholders, BAU Owners and other impacted parties to support the timely progression of regulatory change events.* Track implementation and operational readiness activities and coordinate the collection of evidence supporting the completion of agreed regulatory change actions.* Prepare management information and status reporting for assigned regulatory change events, including progress against milestones, outstanding actions, key risks, issues, dependencies and upcoming decisions.* Support periodic assurance activities, internal audits and regulatory enquiries by coordinating the retrieval and organisation of relevant regulatory change records and supporting evidence.* Contribute to the continuous improvement of regulatory change processes, procedures, templates, reporting and workflow tools by identifying recurring delivery or administrative issues and recommending practical improvements.* Perform other regulatory risk management, project coordination and governance activities appropriate to the role.
