Major Duties
- Advises business partners, including senior management, on AML Compliance programs and applicable laws, regulations, rules and standards.
- Proactively communicates developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks that may impact business activities.
- Assists in development and execution of AML and Economic Sanctions risk assessment.
- Quality Control and Assurance Activities. Designs and executes quality control (QC) reviews to assess the effectiveness, accuracy, and completeness of AML processes, risk assessments, and issue remediation. Identifies control gaps, provides actionable feedback, and supports continuous process improvement.
- Manages Financial Crime Compliance related issues (e.g., regulatory findings, audit issues, internal testing results) through their lifecycle, including identification, root cause analysis, action plan development, tracking, and closure validation. Ensures timely and sustainable remediation in line with governance standards.
- Develop and implement reporting to oversight committees.
- Interacts with business partners, regulators, and internal and external auditors on regulatory topics.
- Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of Compliance risk avoidance.
- Serves as a subject matter expert or other resource within a group for regulatory Compliance matters.
- May mentor junior level employees and review the work of others.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of risk management and the Company's strategic goals.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, acquired through formal education and work experience, is required.
- Analytical and communication skills are necessary to consult with and communicate information to partners/clients; to analyze and summarize information; and to apply laws and regulations to the Company's business.
Experience
- 5-7 or more years' experience, preferably in Compliance or risk management; or equivalent related experience.
